The oceans and atmosphere together form the global commons, the common heritage of all humans. It was our actions of the second half of the 20th century that typify our world. We have displayed the ability, as individual societies, to degrade the attributes of this commons to the detriment of ourselves and other creatures. We must stop the unfolding before it becomes an unravelling. Working together will make the necessary changes. We believe in the well being of the oceans and of the future of humans. "We are all curators of the earth." Awareness is education. Developing awareness is an interactive process, a process that requires openness to our surroundings. In order to understand the environment and its' creatures, we must first be aware of what makes up those characteristics, and what are the challenges facing them. |

It is Global Education Explorers duty to make people aware during the expeditions. Understand why the whale and all creatures of the earth belong here. We want to make the old adage "out of sight, out of mind" a thing of the past. We want to bring you to the sights. We want to bring it to your mind. It is our responsibility to consider and act in favour of the fragile ecosystem we call earth. Our expeditions will encourage one and all to adopt a philosophy of sound, meaningful stewardship. "We have so much to offer our youth. Passing a torch with little or no flame is not a legacy the future should bear" Progress in some corners of the earth is a dirty word. Progress itself is proof of the intelligence of humans. However, it is the mismanagement of progress that has put such strains on our biosphere. Global Education Explorers believes that the participation of individuals and groups during our expeditions will better enhance the ability to responsibly manage progress. Those who developed our past, have the tools to build the future. "Much of our present education system is out of date. It over relies on the traditional methods as the mainstay of learning... we all need insight into specialty areas beyond our normal knowledge" Global Education Explorers will educate through a hands-on experiential discovery of sailing the Atlantic Provinces and beyond.
